Cool project.
Maybe time to give it a gold watch and farewell party.
Not often. And usually not with the T track. I'll use a scrap of wood and a spring clamp for small stuff,
I wish YouTubers would have a prototype, like Norm always did, to help viewers understand the big picture behind every cut,
Aaron, a clever idea.
Thanks for all the insights.
Thank you all for your comments. You've given me some ideas for improvement of my first thoughts. Photo will come when I'm finished.
I’d like help evaluating two options for a router table top. Purpose will be general; nothing specific in mind, for random projects ranging from furniture size to jewelry box size.
I’m planning on...
If this is your most extravagant purchase, maybe it's time to loosen up. Looks like a great value.
If you have a table saw sled with clamp down ability, try that. I like that approach to keep my fingers far away from blades.
Your approach is good. Make shop stuff until it's good enough for your den. Then try for the bedroom. Maybe then you're ready for the living room. Good luck.
I have both sitting and standing workstations. Started with a built-in L shaped desk. Wanted to stand for Zoom presentations (more energy, better background). Built a simple stand on one leg of the...
Jim, I like the looks of the tables. Question on the legs. Is the taper just on the two interior surfaces or also on the outward-facing sides? And does the taper begin below the apron?
thanks.
I'm curious: will you have this shipped from Europe to Canada? Isn't that a big issue even before getting the juice right?
Have a fire sale?
Ben and Bill, thanks for your thoughts. Both good ideas.
Here’s my latest project, with a question at the bottom of this post.
After a remodel, we ended up with some open space in the master bathroom, but no place to sit down and put on shoes and socks....
Thanks for sharing. It's great to see the steps and the pictures. And made me think about my ratty end tables from my impoverished days.
"although I'll likely only use about 1/3 of that for my workshop. "
My forecast is you'll use it all. Enjoy!
I stream Pandora, and occasionally podcasts, using an old cell phone's wifi. I plug the phone into old computer speakers. I leave the old cell phone in the shop. The shop is a bad environment for...
If I made something that beautiful, I'd keep it in the living room.
"but I sometimes feel like I'm a AAA pitcher called up to the major leagues compared to some of the talent around here."
And I feel like the kid who just finished first year of Little League.
Thanks for your thoughts.
Years ago I tried unfinished, and the wood faded. I also tried Varathane and it worked just fine despite the heat. But maybe oil is the way to go. I like Jim's air blow...
Friends, i'm having trouble putting a Varathane finish on some trivets I've made. It's hard to get the Varathane into the slots (dados) without it running, puddling and making blobs on the bottom...
The day before this thread began, I wrote with magic marker on two saw blades
"Outside." You can guess what prompted that action.
