I would like this if avalable
Hopefully he is staying warm and enjoying the winter. Probably curled up watching Roy Underhill shows.
I waited 8 months with zero responses from Blackburn before going thru Paypal and cancelling my order. This was just in the past year.
I love mine. One needs to consider that on exiting the cut, it remains as gentle as the entry. I keep a spacer block in the hollow and use mine as a bench hook for sawing too. It is easier to drop...
What was he doing with the hot iron on the corner joints after glue up of window frame.
What was the plane he was using in the video for end grain leveling of dovetails? Had a knob for a rear tote if I remember.
That was something!
That stumpy video helped me further understand.
Once the marble was positioned, I would silicone a few stops to the underside of the marble and butted (no silicone) against the inside of the framework. Top would be removeable and easy enough to...
I tore my LV down and didn't have any problems with the spring yet it would still loosen up. Now all I do is when adjusting, I push down the blade while tightening so that there is no potential slop...
That is wonderful. Thank you for sharing this.
Warren, I would love it if you would share any additional thoughts on the making of the plane.
I think part of the joy I see in that piece is what has happened with it over the years. If it was from my daughter to me, I would drill a small hole through both split pieces and simply baling wire...
Have you consider 2 pins like tailstock of lathe? That could leave entire visual of bat free and clear.
Designing and building the machinery to do that was immensely satisfying to someone, I would bet.
It's easier to make a tenon larger than a mortise smaller.
George Carlin lives... :)
Sounds like fun. How thick of stock were you using?
I've never seen a chainsaw throwing contest although I bet it would make for great TV. So there is that.
One other nice thing about hot hide glue is that as it dries it pulls the joint tighter. This is where rubbed joints shine.
I love hot hide glue. Liquid hide not so much. Hot hide = crockpot, thermometer and cheap mason jar and a big a$$ brush to quickly apply it... Easy to use, smear it on, assemble joint, scrape excess...
Those are called magic boxes for good reason. Everybody needs at least one. Saved my bacon more than once.
I agree, many thanks!
I'm betting the carpet is glued down already and anything beats concrete.
