I moved 4 1/2 years ago and it is like Christmas around here every time I open a box and find something I forgot I owned. At this rate I'm going to need a bigger shop to house all of them!
Do these leaves make my butt look big?
David had a knife that Ernest (aka Mooney, his dad) built with removable blades. I use Xacto blades but they are pretty flexible so the cuts aren't as nice as I would like. Grinding your own would...
John,
I stopped at the Warther Museum a number of years ago on one of my many trips from NC to MI and had the pleasure of meeting Mr. David Warther. He took the time to show me how he made these...
Thanks for that not-so-subtle reminder David!
Enjoying your project! I'd like to see a Youtube of your group singing! (I'm head of the Music Ministry at our church...)

Interesting thread! About 30 years ago I was a draftsman at Marquip, Inc. in Northern Wisconsin (They made equipment for the corrugated industry). Enjoyed my work but I left due to corporate politics...
Gary,
Hope I get a chance to come and see it work when you get it going!
The color is fantastic! I especially like the rays!! I'm hoping to set up my lathe again in the spring (just finishing up on a new shop so it is stuck in the basement for a few more months). Thanks...
The scoops look great - and I do love my coffee!
The silly putty tip will come in real handy with several projects I have in mind! Thank you!
"Until your shop is heated with wood and illuminated by oil lamps..."
Wow! I never thought of oil lamps out there! I could even work when the power goes out?!?
JKJ,
Thanks for the heads-up! I ordered some of those scalpels from Amazon and they should be here on Monday!
Thanks Jay! I look forward to seeing some of your handiwork!
That was an old piece of 1x2 pine I had laying around. Uncle John was a carver too so I thought his wife would like something like that....
Great idea Steve! When is Open House? (I just realized how close you were!)
Hmmmm... What can I do to top that?
Mike
I buy X-acto #11 blades by the case. It's the final product that counts - not the tool! This memorial piece for my late uncle was done exclusively with a #11 X-acto knife...

Does your rotary have a hold-down inside the glass? (My Epilog has an adjustable spring-loaded rubber wheel that rides inside the glass to keep if from slipping...) I can take a picture if you want...
Very cool idea! (And now one more thing I need to add to my long list of things to try!) Thanks for sharing!
Good luck Stuart! I wish you had started this back when I was living in Hookerton... I would have been there!

Ooops! Sorry about that Larry! My fingers were flying across the keyboard apparently! I meant to type $200 (still not cheap but Bill sure loved that radio - I had to go over and fix his computer on a...
I have a Grace GDI-IR2000 (this model is no longer available) that was given to me by the widow of a late friend. As I recall, Bill paid about $2050 for it and used it in his garage. I will be using...
Thanks for the info Aaron! We don't get the channel up here in the UP but I went to the website and joined the "Legacy Society" to be able to watch the full episodes online. Can't wait to see them...
I just added the site to my file of funny stuff to look at. Thanks for sharing!
I'm with Scott on this one. My first tube lasted 7 years but I was only running it part-time for the first 5 years. If it is a gradual loss, that would be my first guess as to the problem. I replaced...
Had me fooled! Very impressive!!
