Pretty much what Rob said. You want to sell a one time right to the picture. That allows the paper to use it one time. You'll get less $$ for that but retain rights. Get your agreement in writing...

Jim, I don't think anyone would mind, especally if you picked up the check. Heck, I might even venture up from Houston.:p
John,
The proportion of the impeller housing appears to be correct. You may be thinking about the size of the impeller vs the housing, in which case you need to remember that the impeller is...
John,
In Houston, where the current temp is 95* (noon) and the humidity matches the temp, I have found it necessary to run the A/C in the shop if there is any hope of even being out there in the...
Dick,
Like Doug I sealed mine, but used WB enamel. I vented back to the shop using a plenum box and 8" A/C ducting which works well and does an excellent job of noise suppression.
Rob,
I'll take a turn at pontificating and say that the best rest is the one that works best for you. The stock rest that came with your 3520 will allow you to get the tool as close to the work...
The real trick, IMHO, is to learn to judge the temperature of the steel by the color before you quench it.
Nice work Robert. I've tried HFs with only scrapers and can see you really overcame the challenge.
Richard, Ive used shellac to seal pine knots so it should work well with cedar. Pine knots (SYP) can ooze sap forever unless they are sealed and nothing other than shellac (maybe epoxy) seems to...
I'm absolutely GREEN. Wish I could have been there.
Chris,
One answer might be that production turners are interested in speed. It is fast and easy to put a wax finish on, re: Richard Raffin, than to spend the time to get three or four coats of a...
Nice haul Ernie, Mike must be a great guy.
Bill, congrats on your new lathe. Hartley hasn't quit smiling since he got his.
Lee, I'm not sure how it will work in CA. but I wouldn't us it here. You might also want to consider cypress.
Hi Dick,
If you'll PM me I'll give you a contact number. Since I'm retired getting together during the day won't be a problem. I turn on a PM 3520a and have some pecan, china berry, and a few...
Thanks for posting, all the pics are great.
Carl, I couldn't agree more, thanks for posting.
OMG, I completely agree with Cliff, and that's scary.:D :D
This is almost an amusing thread. The question, "earth is a billion years. . ." is typically "hide the ball" since it ignores the reality (ego aside) that there has never, in the history of the...
Bernie, there are FAA facilities in Houston, maybe you should find a reason to come on down.
Ken, the local economy really appreicates your support.
Bill,
I just spent 8 days in the hospital, and I was at Mike's to meet Ken, so to paraphrase another Texan "I knew the food at Mikes, and that hospital food will never be the equal of Mike's...
I have a 3520a, and would recommend it if you are looking at size over the ways, but I don't think you can go wrong with any of the three. You shouldn't have to worry about bearings or electronics...
Dan, save your $$ on the easy bagger. When I tried it I found that unless you could clip it open it would allow the sides of the bag to be pulled in, reducing the capicity of the bag to about half.
Remember, before Julius and Augustus Cesar there were 10 months, and we gain and lose an hour when we switch to DST, so why not a 20 hour day and 10 month year? (I know it would have to be half 36...
I've had nothing but good experiences with MM, and Dain still calls occasionally "just check in." Really nice guy, great company.
