Riley and Tinky used to stand at the front door and bark. Then I raised the blind 6 inches so they can see out and there is no more barking.
thanks the many compliments.
and now when i am spending hours in the shop sanding i just look over at the door and there is my best buddy still keeping me company.
MY best friend, Smiley Riley just loves to hang out in the wood shop. Frequently he has to stay back in the house when there is too much activity, noise, dust, etc going on in the shop.
While I...
I had no idea what it was worth. I had not even heard of the name before. I almost passed it up. Then I called my wife and she said to jump on it. DUH.......:o
I have been hemming and hawing for 3 years between a bandsaw and a thickness sander. Both of which would run around $800.00. I have a small Ryobi bench top bandsaw now. I was recently blessed with an...
I have always loved the look of the traditional workbench but find them not practical for my work. I have thought of making a scaled down version for a coffee table. Just a thought to satisfy my...
If I try to upload a photo that I have previously used on another thread I get an error message that says that photo has already been used and where it has been used. How do I use that photo again in...
Thanks, Dave, for the link to the Shopsmith history. I "apprenticed" under my Dad on the Shopsmith until I was 10 years old. Then I was allowed to use it unsupervised. I still have all of my fingers...
My wife, Judy, returned from 3 weeks in NC with her family and I have her small spot in the garage for her VW STILL tied up with the spray booth. And this is after I took a week off from work while...
I live in South Florida and buy all of my lumber from Steve Wall in NC. Its well worth having it shipped in. In regards to your bench top, well here is a link to my bench. Its not a traditional bench...
 I question the 1971 date. In 1959 I was 10 years old and was using my Dad's Shopsmith.
Von lives in South Carolina, Roger is in Kansas and Chris is in California. I am in Florida and my wife comes from North Carolina. Von is asking for and getting the right wire. Its just that in SC...
You lose because if you had made it; when others noticed the "crappy" paint job they would have blamed it on you. And you lose because they had to go "outside" the family to get the work done....
Thanks Jim. I think I will try a different BM store. :)
I have found that both SW ProClassic and BM Satin Empervo, both water borne finishes, are not available in dark colors. In my case I need an olive green. Neither has a deep tint base available. I...
Everyone has to go at least one time just for the experience. It all starts the NIGHT BEFORE. During set up the staff is putting stuff over the fence and giving it away. The experienced "tenters" are...
I thought my 1973 Craftsman RAS was an Old-Timer. Recently I went to the Sears (Emerson Electric) parts site and purchased new bearings for the motor carriage. Now its as good as new....
I installed the Jet AFS 1000B in my shop and am very happy with it. So is my wife Judy. :) :) http://www.peterspirito.com/airfilter.htm I stay away from any "motorized" HF tools. I do have a lot of...
I set the clutch on my DeWalt to run the screw almost all the way in. The last half-turn I do by hand. I use McFeelys screws exclusively.
Amazon.com via SMC is my new favorites way to get to Amazon.com. I just easily purchased thru SMC a book on fly fishing I had been planning to buy. :)
My brother Jim, and I were there also for Thursday and Friday. It was our first time. I loved watching that machinery running. Sooooo Coooool. :) :) I had been preoccupied with planning a fishing...
Way back in post #7 I was working on a router table. Well it is finished and I am very pleased with the results. There is an extensive write up and many photos on my web site. ;) Take a look....
Being brushable is very important also. USL and Enduro also from Homestead are not. Peter, you referenced adding a clear top coat. What would you use?
I talked with Homestead. The custom colors are those on the color chart. If you want any other colors you have to do it yourself.
