Yeah, I tried that. I also thought it might be possible to discuss with an actual owner. I'm sorry for trying to have a conversation.

Hey Lukas,
I realize this is an old thread but this site won't let me send a PM (apparently i've been gone too long and things have changed) -- I just have a simple question - how big is your...
This is also how i do it - the key to the safety is in the push shoe - you're going to cut into it and that's perfectly okay - that's what it's for.
You still need a splitter/riving knife of some...
The only way i'd recommend you do this with particle board is with hardwood floating tenons -- a particle board tenon will be pretty useless if it even holds together long enough for you to get it...

I made it with my CNC router - brass machines so nicely. Here are a few others I've made for folks recently:

My favorite is the moon one - that one...
I do ...
I started out with just my point & shoot camera that also took video and Microsoft Windows Movie Maker which is free. I now use Lightworks (which is also free for a single output format...
My email address is over 20 years old now.
If i shut off the spam blockers on my mail server and let it all in, it's about 2500/day -- about 15-20 of those are legitimate emails.
With the...
Personally, this seems like symptom treatment rather than curing the root cause - that fence is taller than it needs to be.
I'd shorten the fence ... i use a 1/2 tall straight edge guide clamp...
Was the push stick high or low on the piece? Was it supporting the 'back' of the stock well?
What were you pushing it through with?
Was there anything I missed? I am sure you put a lot of effort and energy into your write-up. But I'm afraid you would get more with honey than vinegar. Your pictures told the whole story.
I...
I think you'll find it's worse. You don't say how long all your hoses are, but....
Dust collector impellers are not the same as shop vac impellers. They are not designed for nearly as much static...
So you have no way to replace one if it breaks?
Take one out and look at the edge ... AFAIK tempered glass is green on the edge.
It's not an oak - it's a hardwood for sure - and it looks closest to the mahoganies i've seen - which species I can't be sure, but i can say that grain is definitely similar.
I have - but i don't think anything's easier than sketchup ... they're not the same beast, though. Sketchup isn't really CAD in the traditional sense. CAD software like DraftSight has a learning...
My depot has quarts of "green" DNA - check the MSDS on that - it's mostly Ethanol here, your mileage may vary.
I have 1/2" black pipe into 2x4s at 16" OC - i also covered every pipe with 1" thin wall PVC sleeves to keep the staining to a minimum.
I keep a LOT of weight on mine -i have 6 o 8 pipes holding...
What good do they do for the other piece that's cut off?
This.
I've done both with and without a platen. I don't use a platen anymore. I have not found it value-adding for the effort it takes to use it (or make it). I don't use much breather mesh,...
Pop the nozzle off and clean it with a dental pic and some solvent (acetone seems to work on a lot of paints).
Or - save your nozzles from empty cans for use in these situations :)
Brutal self-honesty is my best weapon against such mistakes. "You're stupid when you're tired." or "You suck when you rush things." and then be brutally honest about whether i'm tired or rushing. It...
No problem at all. It seems to be the first step in understanding this stuff for a lot of folks. After I built my machine, I started getting asked the same questions you asked quite often so I sorta...
First, welcome to the world of CNC!!! :D
This is the basic chain of software to get you from concept to part:
CAD -- This is the first step - you gotta model what you want to make (or get...
I have one and absolutely love it.
It's off the market though - has been a couple years 725 is way too high. I wouldn't go over $500 even if it were still in the crate, to be honest. It's a great...
