Have you considered making the back a frame and panel instead of a solid plywood one?
I use empty quart and pint paint cans I get at the paint store. I had the same problem with jars like you do.
If you only see yourself making grooves and rabbets, go with the plow planes. I have a Stanley 45 and it is gathering dust. I use my LV and Record 43 plow planes to do my grooves.
Offered up for sale are three #5 handplanes. A Stanley 5 1/4, Stanley #5 and a Miller Falls No 9 (Stanley equivalent #5). I am thinning the herd down to just the planes I need and will use. The only...
It looks like metal shelf corner posts. Maybe one of the big box stores has it.
Bill Rittner of Hardware City Tools sells replacement springs for this drill
You might need a gear puller - it was probably press fitted.
I'll take the two irons if they are still homeless.
I'd ditch windows and go with Linux Mint and the free open office suite. If you don't play games it is perfect and IMO leaps and bounds better then windows.
It looks exactly like my LN violin plane right down to the adjuster knob.
I would put one layer of foam board insulation in between the rafters and another layer at 90 to that one across the rafters. Screw sheet rock to that or leave it exposed.
Bill Rittner of Hardware City Tools makes and sells everything you need if you can't find someone to sell a set to you (knob, stud, and barrel nut). The only downside to that is rosewood is harder to...
This is not the usual Type 20 handplanes I have seen. This plane has seen almost zero use and I would guess the previous owner spent more time drilling the hang hole than using it. The blue on the...
I had to change my password but no problems logging in after that. BTW it had been almost 5 years since I last logged on.
According to Google, Wilke is still in business in York Pa.
I am not 100% sure but I don't have a rubber that small and the sanding tube fits on the spindle.
I have that same sander which I bought in 1995 at Sears. My drums deteriorated over the years and I replaced them all with Grizzly ones. You aren't missing anything else to loosen. One nut and two...
I would contact Lee Valley. They were very helpful when the half nut on my York vise (sold by LV) went south on me. I bought 4 of them for spares and I have used 2 of them already. If Lee Valley...
I would closely inspect the quick release nut. They are usually made of a softer metal than the threaded rod (hardened) and over time the threads in the quick release nut wear out to where they no...
Look up RR buildings on YouTube. He builds nothing but post frame metal clad buildings and he has a lot of how to on flashing windows, roll ups, and man doors.
You addressed and fixed every issue I have with the same fence on my bandsaw. Thanx for posting.
I like it. I wasn't expecting the way you used the walnut - thought it would be all surfaces with plywood showing on the edges.
Under the English tab on the home page of the Sugatsune site - if you click on it you get a link to the North America distributor.
Have a look at torsion box construction.
