Free wood, great bowl, got to love it!
I just picked up a LH Trivac D4A vacuum pump, anyone out there used one on a chuck system? It has 1/3hp motor and appears to be about 4cfm.

Jason, What a beautiful and well thought out piece!! Thanks for sharing, Skip
Bill, Got to go with the "pipe organ"! A true piece of fine art, thanks for sharing, Skip
Nice article Dennis, I've been using the same method since I found it here on" SMC" a few years ago. I do use the McNaughton system on larger blanks and like you, I have found the drying time for...
Glad to hear you are on the mend! Great bird houses and the pictures are wonderful too.
Bill, your craftsmanship and detail are amazing!! Your boxes are truly functional art.
Great idea! Looks good.
Exquisite!, is the first thing that pops into my mind.
A great thread! I enjoy a little of all turning, Christmas decorations, pens, bowls, had a great time with the grand children making Harry Potter magic wands. I have done a few hollow forms and...
Jack, Great set of bowls and very nice pictures on how you did them!
Thanks, Skip

I found the article on DNA from 2005 in a round about way!
By googling Laymar Crafts Woodturning Blog's and clicking on David R. Smith you can get a lot of info on the best DNA brands etc.
There...
Watch your DNA, some brands are are much more toxic than others. Good air circulation and good gloves probably help. I found a great article when I first started, can't seem to put my cursor on it....
Great looking calls Brian, looks like you use slate, I think I have seen a few glass calls on this site, is there a real sound difference? I use a box call, guess I'll have to give a striker a try....
Guess I'd have to pick all four as my favorite! Great pens!!
If you are coating much 5 gal. is the way to go, also if you use DNA its is much cheaper by the 5 gal. pail.
Looks great Steve, I've enjoyed mine, very seldom have to change the belt position. I have the parts for my remote but haven't got to it yet. Again, nice job.
The "Griz" that Bernie has is rated right up there in the 14" size. I have an old Reliant w/riser block, can't seem to kill it, but would probably consider Grizzly for the money when it goes.
McNaughton system has worked great for me.
Beautiful! Guess I would stay natural, a little Danish oil or mineral oil and a little wax hand buffed. A little time in the sun light and as someone already mentioned, it will darken. Again, very...
Matt, The cane looks great, very nice work.
Beautiful pens, great photos!! Why is it I take a little time off and it's like really starting over:confused:
All are very nice Leo, but that "paper birch" really catches my eye.
Glad to hear your back, very nice cup and egg! They will make a real nice Easter decoration.
