This is an excellent point. Just make it work, where there is a will, there is a way.

I'm not the OP. My original post in this thread was pointing out how putting the OP's email on their marketing list was wrong and that I've always had great service from Laguna.
So if you contact them through their online form you are agreeing to receive marketing material. That's pretty sleazy. Most places at least give you the option with a checkbox to opt out before...
C'mon man... somebody at Laguna made the decision to put email addresses submitted on contact forms into their marketing list. It doesn't just happen automatically. Computers aren't born with that...
Uhh... maybe email him about his problem and not add his email address to the marketing list?
I don't understand your comment. They have a way to contact him, they have his e-mail address. I don't know what that has to do with sending him marketing material.
Two things:
1. Laguna should not have put you on their marketing email list for filling out a support request form. That's just not right.
2. Having said that, I have to say that the phone...
No dust collector except one of those festool vacs that is in the shape of a systainer. In my experience, bandsaws don't throw dust around like circular/table saws so I'm not too worried about the...
Lol, yeah I've done a lot of thinking about it and I go back and forth between believing it's a really dumb idea and believing it's a dumb idea but not that dumb. My plan would be to remove the motor...
No, but then again the woodworking I would do on it wouldn't be worth the money either. It's just a hobby. The way I see it is that these are durable machines that lose little value over time...
I don't have room for a shop but a bandsaw, even an 18" one, doesn't take up too much space compared to a table saw. I will mainly use it for ripping, hence the Inca being too small, whereas I can...
I was asking about a small, good-quality bandsaw here a few weeks ago because I live in an apartment. Inca was recommended, and I managed to find a used one available at Eagle Tools. The wonderful...
Thanks for the suggestions. I don't really want to use a Makerspace or group shop because I live in Southern CA now and it's a pain to drive anywhere. I know woodworking in an apartment is not a...
Yeah, I didn't bring any of my big power woodworking tools with me because well, it's an apartment and that doesn't make any sense, but I do have an outside enclave where I can do some work but I...
I had to sell my house and move to an apartment in a big city. I had a great workshop at the house with all the necessary (and unnecessary) tools I could ever use. I sold off some of them to buy into...
I've had both the M12 impact and driver and Bosch 12V impact and driver. I prefer the Bosch. It's more compact, and if you ever take them apart, you can tell the Bosch's housing is beefier, less...
It's probably not required, it's just the metrologist in me wanting increased resolution of measurement. 1/32 would be fine for anything I do.
I've been searching for a ~48" rule that has 1/64 indications & is easy to read. My 12" Starrett combo square (non-chrome) rule is not easy to read, so a 48" version of that would be useless to me.

D'oh! I agree. I wasn't thinking about the dado cut for some reason even though it's the subject of this thread.
1 aft? Like, pushing against part of the board that has been cut? That sounds really dangerous.
Great post. My #1 pet peeve when using vacuum hoses with track saws/sanders/routers is that the ridges on the hose love to find a sharp edge to cling to. So to avoid that I have to hold the hose and...
I wonder why the big box stores don't try to stock all levels of tools, including the high-end tool brands like hilti, Festool, Knipex, Wera.. hell, even Woodpeckers. It's like if Best Buy wouldn't...
Thank you Mr. Econ 101 for your over-simplified assuming posts on this subject.
You are absolutely wrong about Amazon changing prices rapidly. Feel free to use camelcamelcamel and the like to...
Thanks for the review. I have the HF 12" disc sander and it's a beast, has tons of power, great dust collection and is super heavy. It has a pretty thin and lightweight surface table though. I guess...
I think there is a natural law of the universe that states that all power tool dust ports must be a unique size and must never fit your existing hoses.
At least that has been my experience. I've...
