"Anywhere carving" setup?

Dear Carving Creekers,

I normally hang out with the neander creakers, but I haven't had workshop time in many months.

Recently, I carved some toy sailboats in my office when a new patient didn't show up, and it felt really, really good. The feel of a sharp blade through pine and mahogany, the silky finish of the final piece---helped me deal with a lot of stress.

Do you guys have "anywhere carving" setups?

At my office, I have some sloyds (normal and straight) from Del Stubbs, along with a Lie Nielson 103 block plane. I have a vintage horsebutt strop and White gold honing compound for sharpening the knives.

I'm thinking of doing much more carving, since I have much more stress and much less time.

I'd love tips!
