handy dandy scriber
When I was introduced to using blue tape for scribing my colleague used a pencil to mark the tape, then cut to the line with a knife and peeled off the waste, showing up a nice sharp line. To save a step and cut the scribe line directly I made this little tool out of scrap wood and a utility knife blade. As it's not adjustable it has to be run against a shim base or the scribed piece shimmed appropriately. I relieved the blade cap and lined the jaws with double-stick tape to keep the blade in place. For only $90 you can buy a nice aluminum number with carbide blades https://www.specialtytools.com/shop-...ribe-tool.html
