Chisel should be purchased like shoes, If they don't feel comfortable you won't use them. Personally, i don't like handles with metal hoops. I think the older Marples 'Blue Chip' plastic handles are excellent: good steel, comfortable grip and nearly indestructible. There is a Marples 'Gold chip' set on eBay now at a reasonable price. Avoid the Irwin versions as the steel quality varies.
