    years back I used to cut the lawn at times for an elderly neighbour or his son in law other times. From cutting the lawn saw two Clematis left for dead.

    Try 30 second cleaner, it does a great job on algae, mould etc. While it is a chemical, it claims to not harm vegetation when used as directed.
